Cricket Club Grant program winners announced by KFC
KFC recently announced the winners of its Cricket Club Grant program, which supports local cricket clubs throughout Australia that are in need.
The fast food franchise company received 727 entries representing roughly 18 per cent of cricket clubs in Australia. Establishing the winners of the grant from the overwhelming list was challenging however, the following clubs each received a $20,000 KFC Cricket Club Grant:
- Box Hill North Cricket Club, Vermont South, Victoria
- Capel Cricket Club, Capel, Western Australia
- Kenilworth Cricket Club, Adelaide, South Australia
- Loganholme Cricket Club, Waterford West, Queensland
- Narrabri District Cricket Association, Narrabri, New South Wales
Commenting on the success of the initiative James Sutherland, CEO of Cricket Australia explained, “The program is a great way of supporting and giving something back to cricket at a community level – which is really the backbone of cricket in Australia. The KFC grants will make a significant difference to each winning cricket club, allowing them to fund vital new gear and equipment.”
Pedro De Martini, Marketing Director for KFC said, “I’d like to thank every cricket club for entering the competition, we’ve had an incredible response – which highlights the need for an initiative of this nature. The KFC Cricket Club Grant Program will donate $20,000 to each of these five worthy local cricket clubs to help fund everything from bats and balls, to wickets and clubhouses.
