Cold Rock Ice Creamery launches special calendar for children’s charity
Cold Rock Ice Creamery launches a special calendar to help raise money for The Alannah and Madeline Foundation.
The Alannah and Madeline Foundation is a national charity focused in protecting children from violence. The non-profit organisation was set up in memory of Alannah and Madeline Mikac, aged 6 and 3, who were tragically killed along with their mother and 32 others at Port Arthur, Tasmania in 1996.
The calendar features $170 worth of Cold Rock Ice Creamery coupons that can be enjoyed at all stores throughout 2012.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness of the pioneering work the Foundation does to protect children from violence, as well as for Cold Rock to give something back to the community,” said Cold Rock Managing Director, Stan Gordon. Around $25,000 is expected to be raised from the sale of the calendars in Cold Rock stores, nationally.
“This wonderful support allows us to continue our good work towards achieving our vision - that every child will live in a safe and supportive environment,” said The Alannah and Madeline Foundation CEO Dr Judith Slocombe.
The Alannah and Madeline Foundation run innovative programs and initiatives such as Children Ahead, an intensive support program helping children recover from serious violence and trauma.
The foundation also runs the Buddy Bags initiative, which provides essential items to thousands of children in need of emergency accommodation, nationwide.
The calendars are available for purchase at any Cold Rock ice cream franchises until the end of January 2012.
