Coco Cubano welcome first franchisee and plan expansion into Lebanon
Coco Cubano ’s unique bar franchise concept has managed to attract a potential international franchisee while they search for a suitable site for their very first franchisee in Australia.
The café/bar offers a tapas-style menu, desserts, cocktails and coffees and has recently opened three company-owned stores in Kings Cross, Taylors Square and Parramatta, NSW which will soon be followed with the first Coco Cubano franchised outlet.
Their first official franchisee, Angelo Geronazza is currently looking for a site in Melbourne's CBD while the establishment and launch of the Parramatta café franchise has played a key role in the company’s franchise system.
Coco Cubano Director, Cameron Kenna said, "That site, to us, represents the evolution of the brand, and this is the model that we'll be going forward with.
“It's the model that we now go to the franchisee with and say 'This is what you'll be getting'."
Coco Cubano’s potential international franchisee was at the official launch of the Parramatta site. He may be signed as early as November with the Lebanon outlet possibly opening before the years' end.
An Australian, he has been franchising with Caltex for 18 years but plans to move back home to Lebanon and wants to take the concept with him.
While Coco Cubano has been popular among potential franchisees, Founders Cameron Kenna and Tony Melham say they are focused on finding the ideal franchisees for their brand rather than opening as many bar franchises as possible.
"We are very close to signing two or three people in Sydney and another in Brisbane, and there is also another strong enquiry from Melbourne," Kenna said.
