Children's education franchise founder fundraises to end poverty
Begin Bright children’s education franchise founder, Tina Tower has been ‘Living Below the Line’, taking part in a fundraising initiative spawned by the partnership of Oaktree Foundation and The Global Poverty Project, that challenges participants to eat and drink for $2 a day.
Tower’s had her first encounter with extreme poverty when she was 19 in India and took on the challenge to raise money and awareness for the 1.4 billion people who live on $2 or less a day.
The children’s education franchise founder was joined by a handful of friends for the event that took place from 16-20 May and aimed to raise money through participant sponsorship to fund anti-poverty initiatives.
Participants are allowed to tackle the poverty challenge individually or share their funds and pool resources in a group.
Tower managed to reach the position of Level Two Mobiliser for the challenge by recruiting and teaming up with five friends to ensure The Global Poverty Project’s message receives maximum exposure.
Tower’s, adept at responding to the needs of kids through her Begin Bright children’s education franchise, spent a frugal four days to bring awareness to poverty which affects so many children worldwide.
