CARE Super named as the 'Top Retail Product'

For the third consecutive year, CARE Super has been named as the 'Top Retail Product', and secured the highest 5 Quality Star Rating for three of its funds, from independent research agency The Heron Partnership Pty Limited.

The CARE Super Industry Fund, CARE Super Corporate and CARE Super Personal Plan all captured the 5 Heron Quality Star ranking.

The Heron Partnership's definition of its 5-star rating is: "Outstanding - this is an outstanding product with a great depth of features and hence flexibility".

Feature specific benchmarks form the basis of The Heron Partnership's ratings process which delivers a realistic and objective representation of product strengths and weaknesses.

For its 2008/09 assessment, The Heron Partnership studied 160 superannuation products.

Announcing the 2008/09 ratings, Mr Chris Butler, Managing Director of The Heron Partnership, said: "CARE Super has a very good overall package with strong comparative investment returns with a low risk profile and an excellent member servicing capability."

According to CARE Super CEO, Ms Julie Lander, the fund's rating from The Heron Partnership's independent industry-wide assessment is good news for members. "When ranked against so many different products, for CARE Super to secure 'Top Retail Product' for the third consecutive year and to be awarded 5-quality stars for all of our superannuation products, certainly provides real peace of mind for our members," Ms Lander commented.

According to Ms Lander, the annual ratings process undertaken by The Heron Partnership is thorough, rigorous and highly respected by the superannuation industry.

"Securing these rankings from The Heron Partnership endorses the efforts and diligence of the professional teams working at CARE Super on behalf of our members and participating employers," Ms Lander said.

Only two months ago, CARE Super's new pension product earned the highest 'Platinum' rating from independent ratings agency SuperRatings, complementing the Platinum ratings previously awarded for CARE Super's superannuation products.
