Brazilian Butterfly’s Franchising Journey

Brazilian Butterfly beauty specialists began its franchising journey with opening their first franchisee at Knox, Victoria in 2004.

Tanya Farrar opened her first Brazilian Butterfly beauty salon franchise at Richmond, Victoria in 2002. However it was through a loyal customer, Amy Shakespeare that had asked Farrar to take her in as a franchisee.

“I first went to Brazilian Butterfly when I was given a gift voucher for my birthday,” said Shakespeare.

“When I walked into the salon, I couldn’t believe the efficiency, style and character. Immediately, I said to myself, “I want to own my own Brazilian Butterfly”. I demanded to speak to the owner of the salon (Tanya Farrar) and told her I wanted a franchise. I met-up with Scott Farrar the following week and my journey began.”

Shakespeare had opened the first Brazilian Butterfly franchisee at Knox, Victoria in 2004. After 10 years, the beauty salon franchises had grown to 22 stores, which are located across Victoria, Queensland and the ACT.

Shakespeare has been part of the Brazilian Butterfly beauty franchises for the past seven years and encourages other beauty lovers and enthusiasts to join the team.

“Just do it! If you think you have the passion and drive, don’t let anything stand in your way,” says Shakespeare.

“You’ve got to have a ‘can do’ attitude and be prepared to overcome the obstacles. A lot of people believed that I couldn’t achieve what I have. With the support of Brazilian Butterfly, a great family and a positive attitude, I’ve been able to prove those doubters wrong.”

Brazilian Butterfly is offering franchise opportunities across Australia. They are aiming to have a Brazilian Butterfly beauty franchise in every state within the next three years.
