The BRW Fast Franchises 2012 entries now open, Franchise Business Australia looks back at the top 5 winners of 2011.
Currently in its ninth year, the BRW Fast Franchises awards recognise Australia’s most dynamic and rapidly growing franchises and their innovative franchise systems.
The top 5 Australian franchises that achieved the highest growth in revenue according to the BRW Fast Franchises 2011 awards are:
1. Aussie Farmers Direct
Aussie Farmers Direct took first place for the second time in a row, achieving a significant growth of 157%. Aussie Farmers Direct delivers 100% Australian fresh food products directly to their customer’s homes.
The healthy eating franchise currently has 175 outlets across Australia and delivers more than 82,000 fresh food products to homes in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Canberra.
2. Matchbox Franchising
As the only homeware franchise in the top 5, Matchbox Franchising jumped from fourth place to second in 2011 thanks to a revenue growth of 148%.
First starting as a giftware company in 1996, Matchbox has since evolved into 15 Australia wide kitchenware franchises that offer their customers cookware products, brands and specialties from Australian and global suppliers.
3. Chocolateria San Churro
Appealling to the sweet tooth of many Australians, Chocolateria San Churro moved up from 5th up to 3rd with a successful revenue growth of 130%.
Chocolateria San Churro currently have 23 desserts franchises across Australia that offer a menu of chocolate-based foods and drinks made from the finest Spanish coverture chocolates. All of their chocolate franchises maintain the Chocolateria San Churro values of passion, shared success, team work and fun.
4. Zambrero Fresh Mex Grill
Zambrero Fresh Mex Grill makes their debut entry into the BRW Fast Franchise rankings at 4th place with a revenue growth of 101%. Established in 2005, the fast growing Mexican franchise currently has 11 outlets across Australia with more to come in the future.
Zambrero Fresh Mex Grill offers customers the opportunity to create their own fresh and healthy Mexican cuisine. Diners can choose between a burrito and bol or dos capas and tacos, which are served with their choice of fillings, salsa, sauce and optional Mexican chips and dips.
5. Crust Gourmet Pizza Bars
Changing the Australian pizza scene, Crust Gourmet Pizza Bars have made a dramatic jump from their 2010 14th position up to 5th place, having achieved a growth in revenue of 90%. Crust Gourmet Pizza Bars aim to provide diners with a special pizza experience that is fresh and healthy, without the usual greasy pizza feel.
Currently operating 54 pizza franchises across Australia, Crust Gourmet Pizza Bars offers customers a selection of freshly prepared gourmet pizzas that uses over 50 quality ingredients such as smoked salmon, marinated tiger prawns and top shelf gourmet cheeses.
