BCA IT’s award winning journey in the software business

The BCA IT business has become one of Australia’s premier IT infrastructure service providers, servicing the corporate and medium sized enterprises. The IT and communications business has crossed many milestones to achieve a leading position. The software business started trading in 1983 as ComputerLand retail store in Melbourne, with the authorisation as IBM dealer.

In 1988, the IT and communications business changed its name to Business Computers of Australia. The integrated systems and services division was created in 1991 in order to provide service and support to its product offerings. The software business opened its office in Sydney in 1992.

The hardware business become a full member of the Computacenter International in 1997. The software business was given IBM Business Partner of the Year Award for Australia/New Zealand and IBM Business Partner of the Year Award for the Asia Pacific region in 1998.

The IT and communications business become unlisted public company in 1999 and changed its name to BCA IT Limited. The IT business won the IBM PCD Dealer of the Year award for Australia and IBM PCD Dealer of the Year award for New South Wales in 2003.
