Australia is now over 16 tonne lighter, thanks to Fernwood

Over 2,500 women have collectively lost an amazing 16,200kg and 53,000cm in Fernwood Women’s Health Club 's Get Real Results weight loss challenge.

Commencing at the start of March across the 77 Fernwood clubs Australia-wide, the 12 week challenge provided women an opportunity to maximise their New Years resolutions.

Jo Callahan from Campbelltown joined the 12 week ‘Get Real Results’ Challenge at the health club franchise with the vision to do just that – get real results. Twelve weeks on, she has not only lost 20kgs and 104cm in total, but has been crowned the national winner of the Challenge, earning her the grand prize of a $10,000 holiday.

During the past 12 weeks Jo has worked hard at making some permanent changes to her lifestyle. The challenge which incorporated element of fitness and nutrition also focused on both individual and team performance for additional motivation.

Jo says she decided to join the challenge because she realised that it was time for her to get her life and body back in order. “I didn’t like the person I saw in the mirror and I no longer wanted to be an overweight middle-aged woman,” she explained.

Jo attended the gym franchise club five times a week which included weekly personal training sessions and meetings with her nutritional coach

“The challenge has helped me to make some positive changes to my life and as a result, I plan on never returning back to the old, unhappy, unmotivated Jo. My family love the new me and just can’t believe how different I look – my son can now get his arms around my waist!”

Manager of the Fernwood gym franchise in Campbelltown, Sue Palleschi, says the challenge saw many women like Jo achieve amazing results. “I think the most important thing was all these women learned that weight loss is all about the combination of healthy eating and regular exercise, not fad diets and quick fixes,” Ms Palleschi said.
