7-Eleven and Krispy Kreme form sweet partnership
7-Eleven is to partner with Krispy Kreme Australia to supply fresh doughnuts to its 700 Convenience store franchises.
CEO of 7-Eleven, Warren Wilmot believes the partnership will benefit franchisees as well as customers.
"This deal is something we've worked hard to deliver, because of the potential benefits for our company, and most importantly, our franchisees. We believe this arrangement has the potential to deliver a huge increase in sales, and significantly increase customer traffic," he said.
He hopes that the doughnuts will have the same sort of success as other products from 7-Eleven convenience store franchises, such as their Slurpee brand.
For his part, Chairman of Krispy Kreme Australia, John McGuigan, was also delighted with the plans. He said, "We are thrilled that our partnership with 7-Eleven ... will mean that Krispy Kreme fans will be able to buy our product from 600 additional locations.”
Krispy Kreme doughnuts will start to become available through the 7-Eleven network on 30 January on the Gold Coast. They will likely make it to all other outlets by 30 March this year.
