ZEN Home Energy Systems a partner for Community Solar Hubs project
ZEN Home Energy Systems has been appointed the solar home energy systems project partner for a Community Solar Hubs Program in north-east Victoria. The project is also funded by Sustainability Victoria and seven north east council.
The Solar North East program aims to help individual homes reduce their energy consumption by providing individual assessments from an energy advisor and offering advice on suitable Home Energy Systems to residents.
“ZEN is delighted to have been appointed to deliver this program to residents in North East Victoria and help them reduce their energy consumption,” said Richard Turner, CEO of ZEN.
“ZEN has installed over 100,000 solar panels since 2004, and we have extensive experience and understanding of the solar industry. The information and experience we can provide to residents will ensure they get an affordable solution that meets their needs.
The program will begin running from 18 October 2011 and will start in Council areas of Alpine Shire, Towong Shire, City of Wodonga, Indigo Shire, Rural city of Benalla, Mansfield Shire and the Rural City of Wangaratta.
All operations would be delivered by the Zen Home Energy Systems Lavington franchisee, which is owned by Stuart and Janelle Beath.
“Besides helping local communities reduce their carbon footprint, we expect the project will generate over four gigawatt hours of renewable electricity per annum when it is fully operational,” said Turner.
ZEN Energy Home Systems home services franchises were chosen as a project partner for their experience in developing and participating in similar community installation programs.
ZEN environmental franchises are currently working with 40 South Australian metropolitan and regional councils, as well as the Local Government Association of SA.
The Community Solar Hubs Program has already seen the installation of 3,500 Home Energy Systems since May 2010.
