Worldwide doubles NSW capacity in $4.5m technology spree
The new hub will dramatically improve design and print efficiencies for the 4,000 local business customers of the group’s 19 NSW retail Centres.
The Maddox Street facility was officially opened by NSW Senator Marise Payne on Friday October 19th – and followed the opening of Worldwide’s new $1.5m Queensland digital production hub the day before.
Production Manager Iain Marshall, said:
“As well as giving us the space and capacity we need to grow and become even more efficient and competitive in the short term, the new premises will enable us to continue to expand our range of equipment and services in the future.
“Whereas we have occasionally had to outsource some of our particularly large jobs, the new facilities enable us to handle most jobs in-house. With that comes even greater control over quality and turnaround time.”
The centrepiece of Worldwide’s new facility is a Ryobi 925 A1/5 multi-colour offset press, which can produce A1 size printing at up to 16,000 sheets per hour.
Worldwide CEO Mark Manderson said:
“This is a very exciting time to be a major player in Australia’s design and print sector. This latest round of significant investment again demonstrates our confidence in the ability of our production teams, and our commitment to help our Franchise Owners grow their businesses and create wealth.” 29.10.2007
