Sporting Chance for Young Achievers
This is the first year local printer Worldwide Online Printing will be involved with the annual awards which recognise, encourage and promote the positive achievements of young South Australians aged from 14 to 27.
The awards were launched with a morning tea event held at David Jones on Wednesday 17th September. In attendance were patrons of the awards the Honorable John Darley MLC – Member for South Australia; David Pisoni MP – Shadow Minister for Youth, Mayor Steve Perriman of the City of Mt Gambier; Deputy Mayor Glen Docherty of the City of Playford; Channel 9 General Manager Graeme Gilbertson, as well as Kathy MIglis and Brenton Raglis. Also at the event were Francis Bedford - Member for Florey and Tiffany Downing – Director, Office of Youth.
“This is just the beginning,” said Chris Donovan, owner of Worldwide Online Printing retail franchise on Flinders Street in the Adelaide CBD. “At Worldwide Online Printing we’re really excited to be sponsoring the Sports Award – we really believe in acknowledging youth achievement.”

Prizes for this years’ Young Achiever Awards competition include a magnificent trophy and $1000 from HomeStart Finance for each category winner. The overall winner will receive an additional $1000 from HomeStart Finance, a trophy and a holiday for two flying Virgin Blue and accommodation provided by Hilton Hotels.
Last year’s South Australian Sports Award winner, Ben Wilden, recently represented Australia in trampolining at the Beijing Olympics.
Anyone can nominate a young South Australian citizen for categories including Community Service, Arts, Environment, Science and Technology, Indigenous Achievers, Career Achievement, Leadership.
