Wendy's launches fundraising for Aussie youth
Wendy’s has launched a new fundraising initiative to help secure a brighter future for some of Australia’s less fortunate young people and stores around the country are lending a hand to raise funds and promote the initiative.
Wendy’s Youth Support is a national program that offers grants from $500 up to $3,000 to local charities that support underprivileged children and youth. The company’s general manager marketing, Peter Lokan, said supporting Australia’s less fortunate young people was an obvious choice for the franchise.
“A large number of our staff and customers are children or teenagers, which is one of the reasons why we believe this program is so important. It’s a meaningful way for Wendy’s to make a contribution to local communities across the country,” he said.
“There are some wonderful groups doing great things for young Australians but many of them need financial support – so no matter how small your donation, it all adds up and you really can help to create a brighter future for some of the less fortunate young people in our community.”
Donations can be made in-store or by downloading a donation form from the Wendy’s website. This form also has the details about how to apply for a grant if you belong to a charity that contributes towards the health and well-being of disadvantaged children and youth.
“Now more than ever it’s important to support those in our communities who are less fortunate and we’re proud to be raising funds for such a worthy cause,” Lokan said. Wendy’s will cover all the administrative costs so that 100 percent of donations go directly to charities helping disadvantaged youth, he said.
