Trampoline Gelato scoops 10 medals at Dairy Product Awards 2009
Gelato franchise network, Trampoline , has had five products recognised at the Dairy Product Awards 2009.
The gelato flavours - Berry Pav, Lamington, Violet Rumble and Bikkie Break - won a silver medal each in the ‘Gelati 6-9% Fat’ category and the infamous Gogo Cake won in the ‘Novelty Ice Cream’ category at the Victorian competition. Each product was also awarded a silver medal at the overall national awards ceremony – giving the ice cream franchise group 10 medals in total.
Judged by industry experts from a range of backgrounds and professions, The Dairy Product Awards recognise technical merit in a range of products. Conducted in laboratories at Food Science Australia, all ice cream entries go through a rigorous testing and tasting procedure before the medals are awarded.
Grant Crothers, co-founder and CEO of the dessert franchise network, says that Trampoline has always aimed to provide customers with unique-flavoured, high quality fresh gelato.
“The quality we are able to deliver to every customer every day is unparalleled as each store churns every batch every day. We only use fresh milk and cream and go to a hell of a lot of trouble to source the best natural ingredients and its great that the judges have recognized the end result. Over the years various people, including customers, have contributed to our range so it’s a credit to everyone involved and we are constantly brainstorming wild and wonderful flavour ideas. ” said Grant.
Winning products details:
- Berry Pav – An old Aussie fav. With a dairy base and loads of raspberries, the colour literally leaps out of the cabinet. Layered & topped with meringue & fresh raspberries, the texture contrasts are berry good.
- Lamington – Truly the Great Australian Bite. This flavour incorporates a coconut vanilla sponge flavoured gelato, with chocolate covered coconut and sweet Strawberry Jam. It tastes just like the actual cake, only colder.
- Violet Rumble – From a smooth vanilla base, fresh honeycomb is smashed up and mixed through, before real molten chocolate is ladled over the top of it all.
- Bikkie Break – Creamy gelato swirled with chocolate bikkie crunch - made from best bikkies which are all natural and made especially by bakers.
- The 'GoGo' Cake - A flat base with balls of gelato piled up in any flavour.
Organised by the Dairy Industry Association of Australia (DIAA), the winners of the annual Australian and Victorian Dairy Product Awards were announced at events in Melbourne on Thursday 14 and Friday 15 May, 2009.
