In 1993 there was a total of approximately 18.1 million square metres of tiles imported into Australia. Of those tiles 55% were used for walls and 45% were used for floors. Since then the tile market has encountered massive growth. In 2005 there were 31 million square metres of tiles imported into Australia and 7 million square metres of tiles manufactured in Australia. 70% of those tiles were for floors and 30% were for walls. That is a total of 38 million square metres. The import of tiles tripled over this three year period and its growth is expected to continue into the future.

We now know that over the past 10 years people have started to choose tiles over carpet for their floors coverings. Some choose for hygiene reasons due to suffering from asthma and respiratory illness. Others prefer the cool aesthetic feeling of stone tiles under foot. With the price of natural stone dramatically reduced, tiles are now the preferred and most affordable floor alternative. The significant increase in manufacturing of marble, limestone, terracotta has also made very good quality tiles considerably more accessible to the average household.

Carpet cleaners are now battling to secure business as the market has become saturated with competitors. In comparison, the number of tile maintenance technicians remains exceptionally small.

What we require from a Tile Rescue franchisee:
Although it is difficult to define a model Franchisee, there are six core qualities that every Franchisee must have or be prepared to commit to:

  • be able to draw upon a sense of humour and
  • have the drive and determination to keep going when the going gets tough
What is the Recruitment Process?
The first step in the process is when the prospective franchisee requests to find out more about the Tile Rescue Franchise Opportunity and is sent a prospectus to confirm to the prospective franchisee that Tile Rescue has a legitimate franchise offer and a business model that will be successful in achieving their business goals.

Enclosed is a Franchisee Application Form to assists Tile Rescue to find out more about the prospective franchisee. Equipped with this preliminary information Tile Rescue is able to estimate whether the prospective franchisee is in a feasible position to manage a Tile Rescue Franchise.

Once the prospective franchisee has ascertained that Tile Rescue has a legitimate franchise offer, they will be keen to confirm that a strong supportive recruitment process exists. Prior to moving into further detail regarding the franchise officer it is necessary for the franchisee to sign the Confidentiality Deed.

Once the Confidentiality Deed has been signed the mutual screening process commences. This is the opportunity for both the prospective franchisee and Tile Rescue to assess each other in an effort to determine whether there is a good fit between the prospect’s needs and expectations and their requirements for a franchise.

If the above two stages are successful, the prospective franchisee will be curious to discover more about the Tile Rescue offer. The next stage of the recruitment phase is the submission of the Disclosure Document and a generic Franchise Agreement.

Should this stage be successful an official Disclosure Document and Franchise Agreement is drawn up and signed.
