The Happiness Institute teach happiness strategies for a great life

by The Happiness Institute

The Happiness Institute  offers positive psychology coaching courses to those wanting to improve their happiness and quality of life. Their flagship course, Happiness – Strategies for a Great Life, looks at a range of areas through which happiness and optimism can be increased. Its developers describe this program as a small group course which is run in an interactive workshop format to assist clients in the development of the skills and strategies they can use to be happier now.

Supported by practical positive psychology exercises and materials including happiness workbooks, this course is said to help people think more optimistically, enjoy the present more, improve relationships, maximise their strengths and have more clarification in terms of life direction and goals.

Unhappiness is often a result of spending too much time dwelling on the past or worrying about the future. In contrast, happy people spend much more of their time living in the moment. In Happiness – Strategies for a Great Life, a life coach will dedicate a whole session to helping participants learn simple but powerful skills to stay focused in the here and now, where happiness really is.

Other sessions look at relationships, strengths, direction and goals and optimism. Research illustrates that optimism will significantly increase a person’s chances of experiencing positive moods, help them deal more effectively with difficult situations and create opportunities as well as guiding them along a more successful path in life.

Research also strongly suggests that happy people have more as well as better quality relationships. This refers to intimate personal relationships as well as all social and interpersonal interactions. The session focused on relationships provides participants with a model for improving their relationships through taking specific actions to make positive changes in the present.

The creators of this program claim that many people spend far too much time trying to fix their weaknesses and not enough time making the most of their strengths. The program also teaches that happiness is in part based on being aware of individual strengths and using them effectively, and will provide participants with ways to integrate this more in life.

All in all, the Happiness – Strategies for a Great Life program covers a broad range of areas and teaches participants simple skills and strategies that they can use in the various areas of their life, that will help to boost their happiness and optimism.
