The Happiness Institute on Facebook
Positive psychology coaching company, The Happiness Institute launched its Facebook fan page in early 2010 and after just three months has attracted almost 900 fans. Since 2003, after founding The Happiness Institute, Professor Tim Sharp has devoted much of his time to promoting the principles of positive psychology and developing programs that can be learned by individuals and in workplace environments.
Starting this Facebook fan page means that Prof. Sharp can now distribute his knowledge to clients and patients within Australia as well as anyone around the world. Through Facebook, fans of his work and this exciting new field of psychology can interact with him and amongst themselves to discuss current issues and share ideas.
The page is a busy one which involves a great deal of traffic and Prof. Sharp frequently posts happiness quotes, articles and news about his appearances in the keynote and seminar circuit. The fan page offers members a fun and energetic place to visit to gain information on living a happier life and talk to like-minded people.
The Happiness Institute has also found that the fan page is an effective business marketing tool. At the moment they are looking for coaching professionals to take up coaching licences, which are similar to a psychology franchise, but offer business owners more autonomy than a traditional franchise would.
The dream of The Happiness Institute is to create a national network of these licencees that will hopefully hold large national conferences and have a broad presence in the future.
The Happiness Institute is finding Facebook extremely effective for increasing awareness of this opportunity and their other services. The coaching services company will also make Facebook available to their licencees for their own product and service marketing once they join, which is additional to their other marketing mediums.
