The Happiness Institute licensees are kicking goals
Professor Timothy Sharp founded The Happiness Institute in 2003 after building a successful clinical psychology practice. The Happiness Institute is a corporate coaching practice dedicated to promoting the principals of positive psychology.
In addition to the their coaching and corporate work and increasing media presence, The Happiness Institute is also creating a national network of like minded and enthusiastic coaching professionals.
Rather than offering life coaching franchises or psychology franchises, The Happiness Institute has developed a licensing model. The model is essentially an agreement between The Happiness Institute and an individual, allowing them to use the intellectual property developed by the institute and leverage its respected brand to their business’ advantage.
The intellectual property includes course manuals, administrative paperwork, books, CD’s, research literature, presence in various marketing mediums belonging to The Happiness Institute, professional development and much more. The investment ensures that business owners are able to expand on their existing suite of intellectual property resources, or start a new business, while simultaneously providing more flexibility and business autonomy than some franchise systems allow. This means that the intellectual property can be tailored to individual needs.
Current business coaching licensees are doing some inspiring work in devising their own original programs that integrate The Happiness Institute’s intellectual property. Despite using similar materials, they are diverse in scope.
One business coaching licensee, based in Melbourne, is starting a program for young school children to learn self-defence in a fun environment. This is based on the premise that competent kids are more self-confident. Additionally, numerous adult workshops have also been created, some that go for five weeks, others two days. Corporate coaching, working in prisons, and keynote presentations are also a few of the other options that business coaching licensees are looking into.
It is evident that a business coaching licence from The Happiness Institute will not restrict the scope of a coaching or psychology professional’s vision and can offer more flexibility than a conventional psychology franchise or coaching services franchise.
