The Happiness Institute launches newest positive psychology program, The Happiness Diet
The latest positive psychology coaching program to be developed by Dr Tim Sharp and the team at The Happiness Institute was officially launched in mid October.
The Happiness Diet is, they say, a revolutionary idea that is somewhat about eating and nutrition, but more about mindset.
Dr Sharp notes that the key aim of positive psychology coaching is to teach people the power of becoming positive first, before tackling a challenge.
The Happiness Diet, he says, aims to tackle the problem of negative self-body image that many people grapple with on a daily basis by making happiness and positivity about one’s current situation and future goals a priority.
This is critical for the achievement of any goal, he explains, with weight loss being of particular interest.
At the official launch, Dr Sharp outlined the theory behind The Happiness Diet, and was joined by a young woman who had already gone through the diet with him.
Attendees reportedly found the presentation intriguing and enjoyable, with many commenting that hearing about the new positive psychology program from first hand experience was highly valued.
The Happiness Diet programs are designed to be facilitated by qualified coaching psychologists in a small group format.
They run over a six month period, beginning with consecutive weekly sessions tapering off to fortnightly and monthly sessions.
The first of these new positive psychology programs will be held in 2011, beginning in February.
The Happiness Institute is preparing more dates for the rest of the year, and are also working on developing an online version of the course so that people in regional areas, or areas where facilitators are not available, are able to access the program.
