The Happiness Institute – Getting Positivity out there
Well known leader of Positive Psychology in Australia, Professor Timothy Sharp has written several successful books on the topic. These books include
- The Happiness Handbook
- 100 Ways to Happiness
- 100 Ways to Happy Children
- The Good Sleep Guide
It is the mission of Prof. Sharp and his colleagues to improve happiness and teach people how to live their best life by filling it with more optimism, positivity and resilience.
The Happiness Institute distributes its message in several ways, the most central of these being the work produced by Prof. Sharp and his colleagues. At The Happiness Institute’s Sydney headquarters, corporate coaching is offered and Prof. Sharp (or Dr. Happy as he is occasionally known) also travels throughout Australia delivering workshops, seminars and keynotes at various events. Prof. Sharp also enjoys collaborating with others, including comedians, musicians, and his coaching peers, to offer exciting events that are aimed at emphasising the importance of happiness.
In addition to corporate work, The Happiness Institute has recently started a Facebook fan page, which is growing rapidly.
The Facebook platform allows Prof. Sharp to directly communicate with fans and in turn, allows them to discuss issues with him and between themselves. Prof. Sharp also connects via his blog, twitter and a weekly e-newsletter that regularly sends out interesting articles and happiness tips.
In addition to the their coaching and corporate work and media presence, The Happiness Institute now aims to create a national network of like minded and enthusiastic professionals to help them spread the message of positivity even further.
The Happiness Institute has devised a licensing model as an alternative to life coaching franchises or psychology franchises.
The business coaching licence model is essentially an agreement between The Happiness Institute and individuals, allowing them to use the intellectual property developed by the institute and leverage its respected brand to their businesses advantage.
The intellectual property available includes course manuals, administrative paperwork, books, CD’s, research literature and much more. The investment will ensure that businesses can expand on their existing suite of intellectual property resources, or start a brand new business, while at the same time providing more flexibility and business autonomy than most franchise systems allow. This means that the intellectual property can be tailored to individual businesses’ needs.
