7 Ways to Take Control of Your Happiness
There are times in life where one cannot take control of everything. However the Happiness Institute promotes that individuals should try taking control of their lives to help create happiness and a great life.
The Happiness Institute presents their 7 ways to take control of your happiness:
- Before you go any further, make a decision to prioritise happiness today
- Right now, set at least 1 happiness related goal, something that will bring you pleasure or satisfaction or both
- Make a conscious effort to focus on what's working well today (rather than on what's not working)
- Do something good to or for something else
- Practice a random act of kindness (e.g. let someone in front of you in the line or anonymously slip a small chocolate in one of your colleagues "in trays")
- Take at least 5 minutes out at some stage in the day and just relax and/or meditate
- And don't forget to have some fun!
- Taking control helps boost happiness and other positive emotions.
