MasterChef generates increased interest in The Cheesecake Shop cake franchises
The popularity of Channel Ten’s MasterChef program is prompting more Australians to consider their own cooking business, with The Cheesecake Shop reporting an increased interest in their cake franchises as a result of the show’s success.
The Cheesecake Shop’s national franchise development manager, Nick Avgerinos comments that almost half of enquiries he now receives are motivated by the show.
“Almost half the cake franchise enquiries I receive now are from people with a MasterChef fantasy. They are tired of their mundane jobs and want to do something creative and fulfilling,” he says. “Sharing in joyous celebrations by fashioning mouth watering cakes with the Cheesecake Shop appeals to these people looking for an outlet for their artistic side.”
The Cheesecake Shop’s cake franchises are well structured to appeal to this new generation of budding cooks.
Whereas other national operators produce their cakes in a factory and then transport them by truck to local stores, Cheesecake Shop franchisees bake their own cakes on site, reinforcing the company’s motto – “Made with Love”.
The Cheesecake Shop opened in 1991 and now has a network of almost 200 stores across Australasia. Information on Cheesecake Shop cake franchises can be found online.
