Telecommunications service provider Telcoinabox connects 900 Queensland homes to fibre ahead of national broadband network rollout
Telecommunications service providers Telco in a Box recently connected the 900th home in Sanctuary Cove to their custom FTTH (‘fibre to the home’) network. One of Australia’s largest gated communities, Sanctuary Cove, is leading the charge in high speed broadband internet solutions, telephony and television home services.
Triple play telecommunications services in the brownfield community include very high speed broadband, VoIP, traditional telephone, including free resident-to-resident calls, low rate external calls, Free-to-Air (FTA) and pay TV and 24 hour technical support.
Member of the Brownfield consortium and lead contractor, Universal Communications Group CEO, Ralf Luna says Sanctuary Cove has turned into a ‘technology fun park’ for vendors, carriers, contractors and industry bodies.
“The industry has taken a great interest in our deployment, visiting the site to examine how we have integrated fibre technology into existing premises that range from brand new to 25 year old homes. It gives us great pride to know we are setting the example for future FTTH rollouts.”
A further 900 new home services will be connected to the community network, including Sanctuary Cove’s commercial precinct by 2015.
The consortium is an alliance between Universal Communications Group (UCG), Telco in a box and Utilibill. It was formed in 2009 to create a total solution to deliver media and telecommunications services over an all-in-one open access template for brownfield, broad acre residential and high rise communities.
