Local Mums turns teddy bears into a thriving franchise business opportunity
Make-your-own-bear franchise, Stufflers , continues to take Sydney by storm and now has its sights set on Melbourne by opening its first mobile party and event franchise.
Rosie Batty and Natalie Schweizer-Evans have teamed up with the Brisbane-founded company to ride the extraordinary wave of bear-building popularity. Kids and adults alike are discovering the magic of making their own bear using Stufflers’ unique mobile stuffing machine.
Teddy bears will never be the same again.
"When I heard about Stufflers, I knew it was the perfect business for me," says Batty, franchise owner of Stufflers Melbourne.
"Having been in corporate sales for many years, learning technical jargon, etc I grew unsatisfied and wanted something fun and new that I could focus on. Stufflers is just the most amazing opportunity that I know will do extremely well here in Melbourne and there is no other mobile business like it" she adds.
Convinced this is a business for the long haul, both Rosie and Natalie purchased the children’s entertainment franchise and has just completed her 3-day business training program complete with a hands-on marketing system in Brisbane. The children’s products and services franchise is based around birthday parties, but also offer amazing packages for vacation care, shopping centres, primary schools and child care.
Stufflers founder, John Newton, has worked in the children’s entertainment industry for over 13 years. With the bear building industry worth an estimated $600 million a year in America alone, Newton saw an opportunity to expand its franchises in Australia as the test country for his mobile concept.
"Parents are looking for more. We need to be thinking out of the box to give them more choices when it comes to birthday parties. Greater choices and experiences that their kids will remember for life," says Newton.
