Household Expenditure Estimates

Spectrum Analysis  has become one of a select group of companies to be granted access by the ABS to the near 7,000 data records that are collected by the Household Expenditure Survey (HES).

Whilst last collected in 2003/04, it had been adjusted to current conditions, and serves as the base for estimating what $'s are spent per household, at levels down to postcode, suburb and CCD.

The spend estimates are in around 600 separate categories and products, and allow you to look at your local area for how much spend $'s should be available. From this, you can look at your market share and penetration in specific areas. If you have an accounts base, you can also see what % of the available spend you are capturing at postcode, suburb or even CCD level.  

If you want to know your available market for a territory, or around a store --- especially if you are looking to open new stores --- this data could be invaluable to you. When shown on a map you can plot your existing network, and look for new areas of opportunity to be considered.
