About Snap-on Tools (Australia) Pty Ltd
THE BRAND
Supplier of tools to NASA and F-1 crews, Snap-on Tools offers franchisees a unique opportunity to retail the world’s best tools and equipment within a proven franchise system, backed by a reputation for quality and innovation.
Snap-on is an industry leader, providing more than 19,000 of the highest quality products to industry professionals. Operating more than 3,900 franchises in over 130 countries, Snap-on is a leading global developer, manufacturer and marketer of tool and equipment solutions for professional tool users.
Snap-on was a finalist in the FCA ‘Australian Retail Franchisor of the Year Awards in 2009 and received the Merit Award in 2010. Snap-on was also selected by the Financial Review Smart Investor magazine as one of the top franchise opportunities in Australia in their surveys in 2006, 2008. In 2009 they selected Snap-on as the Best Value franchise in Australia.
Snap-on serves a varied and large number of industries including auto, marine and aviation industries, industrial organisations and more. They offer their clients the most extensive product line including high-quality hand tools and tool storage solutions, diagnostic equipment, information and management systems, and ‘under-car’ shop implements like hydraulic lifts and tyre changers.
The quality of their products and innovative strength is evidenced in the company’s high-profile clients including NASA, and their dependence on high-quality, reliable and cutting-edge tools and equipment.
The Snap-on crew is driven by a relentless determination to be the best and provide practical, original and inventive solutions for their professional clients. They maintain an ongoing research and development program to remain at the forefront of tool and equipment solutions.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Snap-on franchisees become a one-stop shop stocking over 19,000 products and providing solutions to customers’ tool and equipment needs from the comfort of their own mobile ‘shopfront’.
The mobile system allows franchisees to avoid commercial premises leases and outgoings associated with fixed premises. Franchisees can service customers at any location, taking their hi-tech mobile store right to the customer’s workplace. The mobile store is designed and built to utilise all available space to display the tools and equipment as well as featuring a flat screen monitor to show product information DVDs and process orders with a mobile EFTPOS machine. The franchise system has been tested for decades to huge success.
The home based franchise provides franchisees with a geographically bound territory surveyed by Snap-on, and a database of potential customers. Serving a large range of industries, Snap-on franchisees have no trouble finding customers and Snap-on’s ongoing research and development program ensures products are constantly updated and repeat business is a given.
Franchisees can offer their customers more than just top quality products, assisting with finance options including the Snap-on Trade Card, a company finance program offered in all franchises.
THE COST
A Snap-on franchise has lower overheads, making it easier for franchisees to invest in their business and build equity and net worth. The franchise attracts relatively low initial investment fees, a low monthly fee, no advertising fee and no initial training fee.
Snap-on’s financing affiliate, Snap-on Credit can finance the majority of franchisees investment through a variety of financing options lowering down-payments to as little as $37,000.
Total initial investment can vary between $150,000 to $300,000 depending on how aspects of the business are paid for and whether the van is leased or bought.
