The SmartCare franchise down memory lane
The SmartCare franchise was started in response to the personal experience of Lyn Cecil following the birth of her son in 1979. The health and beauty business strives to provide the best transitional care to the les fortunate people of the community with empathy and kindness in a professional manner. The medical treatments franchise has developed into a franchise business model with a compassionate face.
The medical treatments franchise was initiated through the mental anguish, stress and strain Lyn experienced during the time of raising her child of special needs bringing her caring instincts to fore. She gave up a full-time Executive Secretary position to turn into a full-time carer, supervising and managing the rehabilitation and well-being of a stroke victim and a quadriplegic. The unique service of SmartCare was borne out of her realisation that the plight of the disabled remained the same.
In July 1998, Lyn started the Bangor Caring Service, based in Sydney's Sutherland Shire providing wheelchair accessible transport for people as a first step towards starting SmartCare. This was followed by a sponsorship with the Cronulla Sharks Rugby League Club which gave a lot of people in the community the advantage of the service. The medical treatments franchise changed its focus to transitional service and adapted the new name since 2000.
