Shingle Inn opens in Kawana Shoppingworld

Local husband and wife team, Doug and Suzy Doyle have opened Queensland’s second Shingle Inn cafe franchise at Kawana Shoppingworld after working in the hospitality and healthcare industries for more than two decades.

“We were searching for a business that shared the same family values as we do, and following a relaxed lunch in a Shingle Inn cafe, we loved the ambience and food so much we became passionate about sharing it with others,” Mr Doyle said.

“We are now looking forward to bringing locals and tourists together for a quality, relaxing and memorable experience at their local Shingle Inn cafe.”

Doug spent 25 years working as a baker and pastry chef and the couple is active in the local community, raising over $240,000 for prostate cancer research.

The cafe franchise concept has been owned by two families for over 75 years and Shingle Inn Director, Andrew Bellchambers is pleased to keep the tradition alive.

“Maintaining the family atmosphere that has helped to shape the memories of so many Shingle Inn customers over the years is very important to us and we are delighted that Doug and Suzy plan to continue this tradition in Kawana,” said Mr Bellchambers.

“It is also a very important step for us to see the franchise expand further on the Sunshine Coast.

“We believe that Kawana residents and visitors will love Shingle Inn’s family atmosphere and quality service and products,” he said.
