Shingle Inn opens first NSW franchise in Hornsby

Shingle Inn , a 75 year old Queensland cafe franchise, has opened their first NSW location in Hornsby. Hornsby was selected as the cafe franchises first foray into NSW

Shingle Inn opened its first location back in 1936 and had expanded to eight company owned coffee shops. The Queensland cafe decided to start franchising in 2008 and since then they have grown to an additional 11 coffee franchises, which are located throughout South East Queensland.

“As a Sydney local, I was keen to bring a brand steeped in family culture and renowned for quality coffee and food to Sydney,” says Ivy Shen, franchisee owner of the new Shingle Inn Hornsby cafe.

“This is the start of a new chapter for Shingle Inn, and also for local families in Hornsby, and I am really excited about being a part of it.”

Shen was a former administrator at one of the top Universities in China. She believes Shingle Inn’s renowned Patty Cakes, coffee, innovative cakes and sweets, as well as their extensive freshly prepared lunch menu would suit the Sydney locals.

“Ivy is an extraordinarily welcome addition to our Shingle Inn family, expanding the tradition into a new and exciting market, and I am sure her business experience attained over 10 years at a multinational company, together with a passion for genuine and personal customer service will be well received by families local to the Hornsby café,” says Andrew Bellchambers, Co-Director of Shingle Inn.
