Automated external defibrillator sparks interest of SafetyQuip’s customers
Safety equipment franchise network, SafetyQuip Australia Pty Ltd has recently introduced the PowerheartAED G3 Plus to its extensive range of personal protective equipment.
SafetyQuip Nunawading’s Mark Bartlett knows well enough how timely use of an AED can save a life saying, “My uncle was travelling in outback Queensland when he came upon a car and a bus stopped at the side of the road. The driver of the car had suffered cardiac arrest and the bus driver was giving him CPR. Unfortunately the victim wasn’t responding and had no pulse. My uncle always travels with the AED he bought in 2004 after suffering a heart attack, so they connected the defibrillator pads to the victim’s chest and after three shocks the heart started pumping again. If my uncle hadn’t arrived on the scene with his defibrillator the outcome would have probably been very different.”
Thirteen percent of all workplace fatalities in the US are the result of sudden cardiac arrest according to the US Occupational Health & Safety Administration. In their CPR Guideline 7, the Australian Resuscitation Council recommends the use of an AED for cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
As more people become aware that, unlike heart attacks, sudden cardiac arrest can strike people of all ages and all levels of fitness, the availability of automated external defibrillator in workplaces, sporting events and social clubs is increasing.
SafetyQuip has introduced the new Powerheart AED G3 Plus to its portfolio of safety products. The AED features industry leading technology including:
- Patented daily weekly and monthly self-testing
- Instructive voice prompts including CPR coaching
- An AED 7-year warranty as well as 4-year full replacement operating battery warranty
