RP Vending Services get fresh
The expected menu of chocolate, chips and soft drinks inside the vending machine is changing. Corporate and small companies alike are demanding a choice of fresh and health products to be available alongside the old favourites in the machines.
And in part this is because of the increased government focus on health and wellbeing of the individual, says Rod Austin of RP Vending Systems . "Companies are now under pressure to provide healthy options for staff refreshment. As individual awareness grows with regards to the major health risks involved in a high sugar, fast food diet and the clear advantages of a healthy diet, we can expect the demand to grow for more healthy choices within the food service industry."
So over the next two years the menu inside the vending machine will evolve into a complete mix of fresh, healthy and the old favourites. To handle this change means vending machines need to be fully equipped with temperature tracking, remote data reporting, cashless systems, specialist fresh food machines and experience in website development for interactive use with the customer.
The vending franchise network is seeing its state of the art machines replacing canteens and bringing substantial savings to schools and companies alike in food wastage and cost of personnel.
"The recent increase of user friendly healthy products made available to the vending operator, including shelf stable solutions and exciting health products aimed at the younger market catering to the new government guidelines for food in the school, makes the transaction from the old menu to the new a smooth and profitable one," says Austin.
