Pizza Capers helps new franchisees recruit staff
Pizza Capers offers new franchisees a recruitment program that will help them employ staff for their own pizza franchises. According to Damien Davies at Pizza Capers, franchisors will be draft an ad for staff for the franchisee.
“We don’t employ them, we go through the interview technique and now to attract the right staff members,” said Davies.
“That’s important with up to 100 applications for each role.” Pizza Capers will be taking their franchisees through the recruitment program as well as discuss the relevant industry bodies that they should refer to for advice.
“It’s like working in a surf shop, people want to work for a classy brand. It’s about working where people are right for each role,” said Davies.
“Franchisees could be employing between 20 to 30 new staff members across the roles in the business and it’s necessary to be able to judge which role suits.”
Pizza Capers also have a human resources department that will assist pizza franchisees in hiring the correct ratio of staff in order to get the right financial balance.
“We have 16 corporate stores so we know how the business runs and we’re pretty accurate about turnover,” said Davis.
“The BDMs (business development managers) are out all year round, in each shop every two months. They can see what’s happening or not. Franchisees need to keep labour costs in check and the BDMs take sales, cost of goods, labour into account.”
Currently online training is not yet available for Pizza Capers pizza franchises but will be changing soon, says Davis.
