Pacnet and TIS Hi-tech form strategic alliance to launch new data centre in Tianjin
Tianjin TIS Hi-tech Information System Service Co., Ltd. (Tianjin TIS Hi-tech) has announced the signing of a business alliance with Pacnet Business Solutions (China), a business unit of the leading regional telecommunications service provider, Pacnet . The business alliance is to jointly develop a new data center facility in Tianjin, China.
Takashi Marui, CEO and Director of Tianjin TIS Hi-tech explained, “The alliance will combine Tianjin TIS Hi-tech’s expertise in IT outsourcing with Pacnet’s network capacity and management expertise to develop the Tianjin Binhai Hi-tech Internet Data Center (Binhai Hi-tech IDC).”
Richard Carden, Managing Director of Pacnet Asia said, “We are pleased to partner Tianjin TIS Hi-tech to develop this new facility which will address the growing demand for connectivity and co-location services in Tianjin and also contribute to the development of the Tianjin Binhai New Area.”
Tianjin TIS Hi-tech will leverage TIS’ expertise in building and operating data centers in Japan to develop the Binhai Hi-tech IDC, which will exceed the Tier III global standard for data-secure facilities. This will ensure secure and reliable services that are on par with that offered in Japan. The Binhai Hi-tech IDC is scheduled for completion in spring 2010.
Tianjin TIS Hi-tech is also set to launch its outsourcing services in the Tianjin area, and deliver a full suite of IT services to meet the outsourcing demands of the rapidly growing businesses across China.
Pacnet Business Solutions (China) is the first foreign-owned telecommunications equity joint venture in China to acquire a license from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) to offer value-added telecommunications services. This will enable Pacnet to add IP VPN services to its suite of telecommunications solutions and directly connecting its industry-leading IP network infrastructure into major cities across the country.
Pacnet’s covers 14 cities in China including Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou and Dalian, as well as cities in Guangdong province including Guangzhou, Dongguan and Shenzhen. The telecommunications provider will extend its reach to 20 cities by the end of 2010.
