Brian and Kathy Goodwin are Pack and Send franchisees in Sydney's Crows Nest
Brian Goodwin used to be in sales, working for companies such as Carnation Milk and Yellow Pages. He bought into the Pack and Send delivery services franchise a decade ago when Steve Holihan, now Pack & Send's national marketing manager and the company's very first franchisee, wanted a business partner.
"There were only 19 stores 10 years ago but the network was growing and I could see the merits of the system," admits Brian Goodwin. "Now there are 97 stores. We have a niche market too, and there are not many franchise systems that have that."
Brian is confident the franchisor analyses the support and direction required for the business to grow and welcomes the brand's move overseas.
"I really believe it will go worldwide. There are stores that do some of the things we do but packing the way we do is exceptional."
The Crows Nest delivery franchise outlet has never had an insurance claim and is this year benefiting from the company's and its own best practice, seeing a 50 per cent reduction in insurance payments for no-claims.
Kathy Goodwin became involved in the office services business five years ago when the original franchisee left and the couple renewed the 10 year term.
