The key features of franchising
by
Norton Rose
Franchisors will often centrally manage activities such as product procurement and marketing, and provide a range of business services to the franchisees. Stock may be supplied by the franchisor or sourced through third party arrangements established by the franchisor.
An effective franchisor and a sound business format will free the franchisees to focus on operating the business. Usually the franchisees will own the equipment, vehicles, fixtures and fittings used in the business and will hold any stock. Any employees involved in the business will either be principals or employees of the franchisee and the franchisee will handle most dealings with customers.
