Effective training and initial support of franchisees
by
Norton Rose
Each franchise will have varying degrees of skill and industry knowledge. The franchisor will need to take this into consideration when deciding on the extent, duration and nature of training. Initial training should be provided at commencement and ongoing training provided at regular intervals to maintain consistent standards and uniformity. Often, the franchisee’s employees are also required to undergo a training program.
Training also provides a final opportunity to asses the suitability of the franchisee. Satisfactory completion of training is often a pre-condition to commencement of the franchise. Usually, a franchisee will be required to sign the franchise agreement and pay the initial fee before training commences.
