Mrs Fields to grant individual franchise at Sydney International Airport

Whilst many franchise networks choose to keep high profile locations as company operations, Mrs. Fields Cookies will grant a franchise on this exciting location to an independent franchisee.

The Mrs. Fields coffee and cookie franchise outlet will be located opposite the new food court and open in September as part of a multi million dollar redevelopment of Sydney International Terminal. It will be right alongside other franchise brands many operated directly by the franchisor or large multinational corporate franchisees.

“We are committed to franchising and this means having the best operators in the high profile properties as well as in shopping centre’s and other traditional locations”, commented the Australian Managing Director of the cafe franchise, Andrew Benefield. “This is just one of several great opportunities we have at present and whilst we have many applications already, there are no plans to give preferential treatment to a large corporate franchisee.”

Mrs. Fields is an internationally recognised food and beverage franchise brand already present in a number of airports around the world including Singapore, Hong Kong and across the United States. Apart from serving fresh soft baked cookies, muffins and coffee to friends and relatives gathering to say farewell to travelers there will also be an extensive range of gifts available for the last minute overseas traveler.

“International Travel numbers are down at present, however we see this as a short term hurdle. The Airport Corporation is forecasting passenger numbers to triple in the next 20 years and we see no reason for this not to happen once the airport is redeveloped” went on Mr. Benefield. “This will be a perfect opportunity for a motivated person to build a strong future”.
