Mr Rental wins 2010 Franchisor of the Year

Mr Rental has been named the 2010 Established Franchisor of the Year for its national network of appliance rental franchises at the annual Excellence in Franchising awards, held recently by the Franchise Council of Australia.

The company finished runners up in the Established Franchisor category last year, so Mr Rental CEO Glen Hickman is understandably delighted with the win, attributing it to the hard work that goes on behind the scenes at the appliance rental franchises.

“We’ve invested a lot of time and energy into the systems, especially IT and human resources. The growth of Mr Rental has been phenomenal since we started franchising in 2001 and it’s great to see all of the hard work pay off,” he says.

Mr Hickman is also proud, he says, of the fact that most Mr Rental for hire franchises are currently experiencing almost twenty per cent growth in yearly profits, while the current industry average is at twelve per cent.

Mr Rental General Manager Alan Payne says that franchisees also deserve recognition for their willingness to follow the systems and procedures put in place to ensure maximum returns on investment at their appliance rental franchises.

“Ultimately it’s up to each individual business owner to adhere to best practice and the Mr Rental culture guidelines to ensure we continue to connect with customers and reach performance levels and targets,” he says.

Mr Rental currently operates 78 appliance rental franchises across Australia and New Zealand, with twelve more stores opening over the next year.

In addition, the company is working with potential partners and vendors in the US, Singapore, South Africa, the UK and Ireland, with a view to commencing operations in these markets in the near future.
