Bunbury, Western Australia Mr Rental franchisee national award winner

Franchisee Mick Caddy runs the South West branch of Mr Rental for hire franchises in Western Australia, and was recently awarded the prestigious National Franchisee of the Year (two or more staff) award from the FCA.

Announced at the National Excellence in Franchising Awards, this is the third industry award for Mr Caddy, having previously received two wins in the Western Australian Franchise awards.

Mr Caddy says the reason he entered the awards was because he wanted Mr Rental for hire franchises, and the staff behind them, to gain recognition for the great job they were doing.

“This win is really due to the positive attitude of team members and the quality of the Mr Rental systems,” he says.

It is the dedication of his team that Mr Caddy believes secured the national award.

He explains that “if you phone up my store at 4:50pm and wanted a fridge delivered, my team would deliver it to no problems at all. We also only rent out quality equipment and we deliver, and pick up, for free. You can't be successful without a great team and we certainly have that.”

Mr Caddy says that to ensure success his team followed the systems in place at Mr Rental for hire franchises diligently.

“When we purchased Mr Rental we purchased a quality system, so we follow the system to the letter,” he says.

Mr Caddy notes that his team is also very active in the community, working with various not-for-profit foundations such as the Bunbury Young Voices, The Leukaemia Foundation and the Cancer Foundation.

Over the past year, the South West branch of Mr Rental appliance rental franchises donated over $10,000 to charity, and regularly lends out barbecues, vans and marquees to not-for-profit organisations for fundraising events.
