A chance event begins a new career with mobile refuelling franchises, Mini-Tankers

Moving from Sydney to Newcastle for a job offer, lifestyle change and to be closer to family, Jasson Asplett didn’t know what to do when his new job fell through.

He had worked in Sydney as a truck owner and operator and after his experience, he wasn’t keen to go into business again.

Unemployed, Jasson experienced a chance event when his son knocked a Mini-Tankers Australia stubby cooler out of the cupboard he was playing in. Jasson wondered if he could get a job with the mobile franchises.

He was shocked when he learnt that the Newcastle mobile franchise was on the market.

John was impressed from the first meeting with the management team who were professional, enthusiastic and positive. After a month in the Discovery Program he had taken over the run.

Now he has input into the amount of work he does and how concrete loads are allocated. John has an opportunity to grow with constant communication and support from the state offices.

“My Mini-Tankers experience is completely different,” John said.

“They listen to my ideas and help source customers.”

He has improved delivery volumes from the previous owner and with the abundance of construction and development projects in the Hunter Valley region, he is optimistic about the future of his Mini-Tankers mobile franchise.
