Founded in 1982 by joint managing directors Noel Roberts and Noel Carroll, today Michel’s Patisserie is a premier franchise system with a proven track record of success, including winning the Franchise Council of Australia ’s Franchisor of the Year in 2001 and again in 2003.

The Michel’s Patisserie product range boasts some 190 items of small and large cakes, flans, pastries, pies, quiche and other savouries, with the added value of hot and cold beverages and party items. In addition, Michel’s provides the solution for celebrations such as office and home parties; birthdays, BBQs and any other special event – it’s little wonder Michel’s Patisserie is known as the ‘Place to Party’!

From the outset the plan was for simplicity, achieved by separating the food preparation (baking) from retailing. No early starts for preparation as the order is placed to the central bakery each evening and delivered fresh each day.

One of our ‘unique’ franchise differences is that, unlike almost all other retail franchisors, Michel’s Patisserie is not a royalty-based system. A marketing levy is charged and this is used for advertising and marketing of the Michel’s Patisserie brand.

The fast food franchise recognises the importance of coffee as an accompaniment to a slice of cake. Since 1999 Michel’s Espresso has been available exclusively to Michel’s Patisserie stores. The coffee is specially created and blended with the highest quality coffee beans available on the market. The process takes place at Michel's coffee roasting and training facilities.

Michel’s Patisserie is currently averaging a new store opening every week nationwide. Internationally, it has recently opened two stores in Shanghai, China, with further plans to expand into New Zealand
