Latte Cartelle believe coffee is recession proof

Some clairvoyants read the coffee and tea leaves left in the bottom of the cup to predict the future. However, the Latte Cartelle predicts an overflowing cup in the drive-thru coffee market.

With unprecedented growth in sales at the Latte Cartelle coffee franchise stores in Hallam and Elsternwick in Melbourne, an article in the Financial Review January 5th 2009, reflects the Latte Cartelle’s drive-through coffee forecast.

“Going out for an espresso coffee has really become a way of life now. During difficult economic times people would still reward themselves with a cup of coffee in the same way as they do not stop eating out but instead trade down”. Said Tim Emmerson of industry research firm BIS Shrapnel.

Linda Tsiokas, Managing Director of the drive-through café franchise group said “Our growth in sales indicate that people still consider the daily purchase of their favorite drive-thru coffee extremely affordable and more importantly a habit they don’t want to change”. “We firmly believe coffee is recession proof!” Tsiokas said.

The Latte Cartelle is now offering drive-thru coffee businesses for sale throughout Melbourne, with the first drive-thru coffee franchise site opening in Hoppers Crossing in July 2009.
