La Porchetta holds Silent Charity Auction for the Children First Foundation

La Porchetta , an Italian restaurant franchises, has raised more than $22,000 for the Children First Foundation during a silent auction, which was held in their August 2011 National Conference of franchisees and suppliers.

La Porchetta holds a silent auction for a selected charity, every year, during its annual conference. This year in 2011, the Italian cuisine franchises had raised money that exceeded all pass records.

The suppliers of La Porchetta were invited to offer an item for the auction, which included gifts from an iPad2, a laptop, travel and holiday accommodation, a bicycle, a digital photo frame and beauty packs, as well as signed team jumpers, posters, footballs, soccer balls and a signed cricket bat for the sports fans.

“We’ve always had a very strong culture of corporate giving at La Porchetta, especially in relation to organisations that support the wellbeing of children and families,” says CEO Sara Pantaleo.

“The majority of our franchisees are involved in local causes through their businesses and they also get behind national causes like this. Our suppliers pitched in too and we’re very proud that a small group of people raised so much.”

La Porchetta, Italian restaurant franchises, has donated their raised money to the Children First Foundation.

The Children First Foundation focuses in bringing children, from developing countries, to Australia for life saving surgeries and providing a caring and homely environment while they recover. They also provide medical assistance to disadvantaged children across Australia. La Porchetta has been a long time supporter for the Children First Foundation.

“We have had a long and wonderful association with La Porchetta over many years and they have contributed a great deal towards our work, often behind the scenes and out of the public eye. We appreciate their support very much,” says  Margaret Smith, CEO of Children First Foundation.
