Kindy Dance Time coming to Melbourne in 2010
Coming to Melbourne in early 2010 is an exciting new dance programme aimed specifically at toddlers and pre-schoolers.
The Kindy Dance Time , is a unique, age-specific programme for girls and boys aged 2-5. Classes will commence in several locations throughout Melbourne in Term 1, 2010.
The children’s dance franchise group has been enchanting thousands of pre-schoolers since Lara Gandini took over the business in 2004.
Ms Gandini said “Our programme at Kindy Dance Time is very unique. We cater for both girls and boys and our syllabus is carefully designed with age-related themes that really enable children to develop a love of dance in a stress-free environment.”
The Kindy Dance Time syllabus has been developed using resources and experience from a number of leading tutors in music and dance, specialising in the early childhood years. A key characteristic of the children’s entertainment franchise system is the emphasis on parental involvement in all classes.
“We have found that at this young age, having parents in the classes with children helps them feel more comfortable during those initial stages of development.” Ms Gandini said.
Ms Gandini is a former member of the Australian Ballet School; L’Academie de Danse Classique de Princess Grace’; and the Ballet de Monte Carlo company and has been teaching dance for almost 20 years. Under the direction of her renowned mother, Terri Charlesworth OAM, Ms Gandini has taught classical ballet to elite students.
“Before Kindy Dance Time, I taught at the Graduate College of Dance in Western Australian and also with Youth Ballet WA.
“I love teaching dance and developing the Kindy Dance Time programme has been my passion for the last 5 years,” Ms Gandini said.
Kindy Dance Time currently has dance franchises in operation in Western Australia and has over 850 students in classes at 20 locations across the state. Following a strong demand from the East Coast for a similar programme Ms Gandini said Melbourne was the obvious choice to launch the programme for her.
Ms Gandini is looking forward to next year, and already has been overwhelmed with the response to the programme.
“All of our teachers are highly experienced in dance, but also possess that all important quality of a general love of children and I am excited about what they will bring to children in Melbourne.”
