A brief history of Jim’s Skip Bins mobile franchise
The Jim's Skip Bins franchise is a division of Jim’s Group in Australia. Jim Penman launched Jim’s Mowing in Melbourne, Australia in 1982 when he was doing a doctorate in history. With its commitment to customer service, the parent business of the mobile franchise has grown into the world’s largest lawn mowing franchise. The rapid growth led to the formation of a franchise system of Jim’s Group for easy and effective management of its operations.
Seeing a great demand for its services, the Jim’s Mowing system branched out to various areas of household services including the cleaning services business. The rapid expansion of its franchise system necessitated the need for quality control. Accordingly, experienced franchisees were offered regions, who later moved interstate, and even internationally. Regional owners of the franchise system became regional franchisors or master franchisors who took care of franchisees.
The regional franchisors ensure the effective maintenance of company standards and are the driving force of the prosperous group. In 2007, Jim’s Group has more than 2,700 franchisees scattered across all States and territories of Australia and New Zealand, and parts of Canada and the U.K.
