Important questions to ask when buying a Jesters franchise
Should you wish to sell the store, you may do so to a prospective buyer who meets the Jesters requirements for franchisees and agrees to comply with all required procedures and current agreements there in force. Jesters has no objection to the transfer of your franchise under these conditions, however, a transfer fee is payable to Jesters to cover the cost of evaluating, and supervising the training of the new franchisee.
Is there a standardised procedure that I am required to follow?
Yes, however the procedures are simple. Jesters has developed operational procedures and systems for many areas including reporting, insurance, accounting practices, purchasing, hiring and training new staff, cost control, advertising, merchandising and other essential functions necessary to the efficient operation of your franchise.
Should I seek independent advice before entering jesters franchise system?
Jesters recommend that its franchisees be provided with competent legal advice before entering into the franchise documentation to ensure that its franchisees fully understand their obligations. In addition it is prudent for franchisees to retain the services of a competent accountant to advise them generally.
How do I obtain financing?
If required, Jesters will assist you in submitting an application to a lending institution.
Jesters has relationships with all the banks who are major participants in the franchise sector. Westpac for instance have a division that specialises in lending to franchised operators and have already provided finance to Jesters franchisees in New Zealand.
What operating results can be expected?
Jesters are not permitted to provide financial details at this stage of your inquiry.
Details and discussion of the financial aspects of the business may be provided during your consultation with Jesters Franchising representatives.
