Jani-King makes a clean sweep of Entrepreneur Magazine’s Franchise 500

Jani-King has swept the competition at “Entrepreneur Magazine’s Annual Franchise 500” rankings earning the #1 Commercial Cleaning Franchise spot for the 22nd consecutive year.

It’s the world’s most comprehensive ranking of franchise companies around the world and ranked Jani-King on financial strength and stability, growth rate and size of the cleaning franchise system.

Jani-King was also recognised as the “#1 Home-Based Franchise” for the ninth year in a row, the “#2 Low Cost Franchise,” the “11th Fastest Growing Franchise for 2009” and ”15th Overall Franchise Company.”

General Manager of the commercial cleaning franchise Mark Gosling said the recognition from “Entrepreneur Magazine” acknowledged the strength of Jani-King’s franchise system which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year.

“Being ranked number one in the commercial cleaning category is a major accomplishment for Jani-King regions around the world and it is a great honour to be acknowledged by our peers and business leaders,” he said.

“Even in these difficult economic times Jani-King continues to experience positive growth and in Australia and New Zealand alone we attracted over 96 franchisees in the 2007/08 financial year. The commercial cleaning industry is extremely competitive and this ranking is a clear indicator of the successful franchising model we have in place.

“Jani-King’s franchises are among the lowest cost on the market starting at just $12,800 ex GST so almost anyone can purchase a business with a small loan. We also provide guaranteed customers for two years to our franchisees which makes the decision to go into business an easier and less risky one.”

Mr Gosling said Jani-King was planning to build on its success and capture a larger chunk of the commercial cleaning industry throughout 2009.

“We recorded a turnover of over $AUD81 million to 30 June 2008 and this financial year we’re aiming to add 130 franchise owners and significantly increase the number of clients we service. We haven’t experienced any slowdown in the number of franchisees joining the system or clients requesting our services.”
