Jani King franchise cleaning sector
After working on a farm for two years prior to starting his Jani-King franchise , Neill Orringe wanted to build his own business and work towards creating an asset that he could pass onto his children.
“The thing that attracted me to buying my own franchise was the opportunity it created for me to establish an asset for myself that I could one day hand down to my children,” Orringe says.
“Many people just work for a wage and don’t have anything that they are working towards in the long-term. I wanted to take something of my own and grow it into a profitable and successful entity, rather than just receiving the same pay packet each week.”
Even with this solid vision in mind, Orringe says starting his business services franchise was daunting.
“Starting my own cleaning business was quite confronting at first because I didn’t know anything about the industry. Even so, I decided to ‘think big’ and embrace every opportunity I had to grow my business.”
Orringe certainly stands by his philosophy and has maintained five accounts, including a school and supermarket, which he says is a positive indicator for the future.
“I would be lying if I said this first year of business hasn’t been hard work. It’s been worth it though, especially considering I have secured some major accounts. Already I can see the potential to grow my business into a profitable asset.”
Despite his business’ infancy, Orringe says envisioning himself as one of his clients has been an important part of his achievement.
“The secret to my business success is putting myself in the client’s shoes each time I do a job for them. I think to myself, if I was the client, would I be happy with the end result? I have high personal standards so this guarantees I provide my clients with quality work every time.”
Although Orringe has worked hard to realise his business objectives, he says he owes a large portion of his success to Jani-King.
“Jani-King has been terrific in providing me with all the support I have needed. If I ever have a problem, the management team is always there to offer their expertise. My business would not have flourished without the company’s valuable input and guidance.”
Jani-King has a $66 million annual turnover and is the world’s number-one rated franchise cleaning company, with more than 600 franchisees throughout Australia and New Zealand alone.
