How Hip Pocket’s Hugh Norris came to found the franchise
The Hip Pocket franchise founder and CEO Nugh Norris brings an impressive record of lifetime experience in the retail men’s clothing sector.
He is a third generation retailer whose workwear franchise knowledge and experience comes from a family retailing dynasty founded in 1946.
As a result of this experience Hugh identified a niche “destination” retail format to enhance the growing opportunities in the workwear and safety franchise market.
Hugh’s first safety franchise was established in Bendigo, Victoria. As a key element in the development of the business Hugh was able to develop a range of appropriate supply relationships with manufacturers in Australia and overseas to the extent that he was able to achieve significant savings.
As the business developed it became obvious that even greater savings could be achieved if larger turnover of product orders could be set in place hence the development of the Hip Pocket franchise concept which is based upon a sharing format. Amongst members a retail “destination” format which provides all the elements of a successful retail chain benefiting the individuals in the group.
